Today I was struggling.
I was the early morning bus driver and had to miss my quiet time. The ride in was bleak.
The roads were slushy and grey and the sky looked the same.
When I got back home, I could not get it together. I felt really down. I knew the steps to take to make myself feel a little better, but I couldn't muster up the energy to take them...I couldn't get myself to care. This did not feel good. At all.
I dragged myself over to my oils and sought out the heavy hitters: Frankincense and Copaiba.
Frankincense is known in oil land as the "king of oils" and it has almost mythical properties. While I'm all for a good myth, I like my science, so I rely on the research for this one. Frankincense is known to support healthy cellular function and promotes feelings of peace, relaxation, satisfaction, and overall wellness. I'm in.
Copaiba is the new kid on the block for doTERRA and is off to a crazy start. When they released this oil in October, doTERRA had not expected the amazing response. The stock they had forecast to last a year was sold out within six weeks. Here's why...
Copaiba essential oil is so unique and effective because of its high level of beta-caryophyllene. In 2008, European scientists learned that betacaryophyllene had cannabinoid-like properties, but Copaiba does not act on the same nervous system receptors as cannabis (marijuana), so you have no brain impairment...meaning Copaiba essential oil has the ability to deliver major benefits without giving you the high.
I use it because it has been shown to help support the health of the cardiovascular, immune, digestive, nervous, and respiratory systems. It’s also a powerful antioxidant that promotes immune health. No other oil that I know of has such a broad range of system support. Jeb takes a drop or two under his tongue before bed to reduce anxiety and help him sleep. He says he has never found anything that helped ease the nighttime "mind chatter' like the Copaiba does. I like to add mine to a little water with a drop (or two, sometimes it's hard to regulate and that's ok!) of water. (read about internal use here)
And that's just what I did this morning: I put my frank and copaiba in a glass of water with some extra vitamin D-3 (a must-do in the winter months in the northeast) and then took my Lifelong Vitality vitamins. I actually took an extra dose of the EO Mega's because I felt like my brain could use the boost and a little extra protection. I felt like I was tipping towards depression and my brain needed some support to stay away from there!
I then grabbed some Elevation (Joyful blend! Euphoric floral scents of Lavandin, Lavender, Melissa, Ylang Ylang, and Osmanthus with Tangerine, Elemi, Hawaiian Sandalwood, and Lemon Myrtle) out of my stash and put it everywhere! I put it on the gnome, in the diffuser and in my humidifier, I dropped it on my salt lamp. Sounds like a lot, but it was only about 10 drops. Then, I took a big sniff and headed outside.
As much as I love my oils and other tools, I still need to move! It's so important to get your body MOVING, especially when you don't want to. Luckily, the sun had decided to come out and she warmed my back as I skied through the field.
Ahhh!! I was feeling better already!
